Moderator Guide

Everything you need to moderate effectively with Burner Phone — from day one to advanced threat response.

🎖️ WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A MOD

Moderating with Burner Phone is different from traditional Discord moderation. You have a full security platform behind you — your job is not just to react, it's to prevent, detect, and document.

The three rules:
1. Document everything. Every action you take through this dashboard is permanently logged with your name, timestamp, and reason. There are no "off the record" actions.
2. Never act on assumptions. Use the User Lookup tab to pull full data on a user before taking action. Risk score, fingerprint, verification history — all of it is there.
3. Escalate what you can't resolve. Bans, appeals, and billing issues go to the server owner. When in doubt, mute and escalate instead of banning immediately.

MOD ACTIONS — WHAT EACH ONE DOES

WarnSends the user a DM with your message. Logged. Does not affect their access. Use for first-time rule violations or minor behaviour.Dashboard + Chat
MuteDiscord timeout for the chosen duration (5m–28d via /mute). User cannot send messages, react, or join voice. DMs the user with the reason. Automatically expires, or lift early with /unmute. Use for heated arguments or spam.Discord /mute
UnmuteRemoves an active mute immediately with /unmute @user so the user can type and speak again. DMs the user. Logged to mute logs.Discord /unmute
KickRemoves the user from the server. They can rejoin but must re-verify. Their fingerprint is NOT flagged. Use when you want to force a re-verification or remove a disruptive user without a permanent ban.Dashboard + Chat + Discord
BanSoft ban — strips all roles, adds @Permanently Banned. User stays in the server but can ONLY see #permanently-banned (where they can submit one appeal). Their fingerprint is flagged — if they try to verify on any alt, the system auto-blocks them.Dashboard + Chat + Discord

HOW TO TAKE ACTION

From Members tab: Find the user in the list → click Warn, Kick, or Ban inline. Fastest method for quick actions.
From User Lookup: Enter a Discord User ID → full fingerprint, risk score, history → action buttons at the bottom. Use this when you need the full picture before deciding.
From Verifications tab: Click any row → jumps straight to that user's lookup.
From Modmail: Every ticket has quick action buttons inline — ban, kick, warn, suspend without leaving the conversation.
Always write a reason. Reasons are visible in Mod Logs and shown to the user in ban/kick DMs. "No reason" looks unprofessional and is harder to defend if appealed.

EVERY TAB EXPLAINED

OverviewLive stats — total verifications, threats blocked, VPN detections, alt accounts. AI Security Briefing button (Pro+) generates a 24-hour threat summary.
VerifyEvery verification attempt — pass/fail, risk score, VPN/proxy flags, alt detection. Filter by result. Click any row to jump to User Lookup.
LookupEnter any Discord User ID. See risk score breakdown, VPN/Proxy/Tor status, verification history, account age, linked accounts. IP/ISP/location visible to platform admin only.
ActivityReal-time event feed — verifications, blocks, security alerts, bot events with timestamps. Watch this live during raids or suspicious activity.
StatsCharts and trends — verification pass/fail over 30 days, threat breakdown by category, VPN/proxy provider table, peak hours, raid events log.
MembersAll members who have gone through Burner Phone verification — status, risk score, verified date, ISP. Quick action buttons inline. Search by name, country, or ISP. Export CSV.
LogsEvery mod action taken through this dashboard — who did it, to whom, when, and the reason. Permanent, uneditable. Today's count shown as badge. Export CSV.
Alerts (LOCKED)Enterprise: Set webhook alerts for risk score thresholds, alt detections, VPN spikes, and raid patterns. Badge shows unresolved integrity alerts.
ModmailFull ticket system. Members DM the bot to open a ticket. You reply, add mod notes, use response templates, run AI tools (Pro+), set priority, track SLA timers (Pro+). Badge shows unclaimed/open tickets.
AuditFull server event history captured by the bot — role changes, message edits/deletes, voice joins/leaves, channel creates/deletes, nickname changes, all mod actions. 60+ event types. Refreshes every 3s.
ChatBrowse and send messages to any server channel directly from the browser. Supports Discord markdown, emoji picker, and file attachments.
VisibleCheckbox grid of every channel. Control which ones @Unverified members can see. Apply changes to Discord instantly.
AutoModBanned word list — add words or phrases that get auto-deleted when posted in any channel. The message is removed instantly, the offender gets a brief in-channel notice that auto-deletes after 5 seconds, and the event is logged to the audit log.
LinksTrackable link manager — create custom short links that log every click (who, when, device). Useful for invite tracking, campaigns, and identifying suspicious link sharing.
AppealsBan appeal queue. Members blocked during verification can submit an appeal. Review context, approve or deny with a note. Badge shows pending appeals.

MODMAIL — HOW IT WORKS

A member DMs the Burner Phone bot → ticket opens automatically in both Modmail dashboard and a private Discord channel for moderators.

Claim before you reply. Click Claim on a ticket to assign it to yourself. Unclaimed tickets show as higher priority in the badge count.
Mod notes are private — the member never sees them. Use them to document your reasoning, flag concerns, or leave context for the next mod.
Response templates — click the template button to insert pre-written replies for common situations. Saves time and keeps responses consistent.
AI tools (Pro+): Thread Summary (one click, summarises the whole conversation), Reply Suggestions (3 AI-drafted responses based on context), Sentiment (mood + escalation risk).
SLA timers (Pro+) track response time per ticket. They turn yellow then red as time passes. Don't let them go red.
Investigation panel: Every ticket shows the member's risk score, fingerprint flags, and verification history inline — no need to open Lookup separately.
Discord prefix commands in ticket channels:
?close [reason] — close and archive the ticket
?note [text] — add a private mod note
?claim — claim this ticket as yours
?transfer @mod — hand off to another mod
?priority [low/medium/high/critical] — set ticket priority

HOW VERIFICATION WORKS

When a new member clicks Verify Me in #verify:
1. Bot DMs them a secure link (valid 10 minutes)
2. They open it — browser fingerprint collected silently (~280 signals Free / ~470 Pro / 650+ Enterprise)
3. IP checked server-side — VPN/proxy/Tor detection, fraud score, ISP
4. Risk score 0–100 calculated from all signals
5. Score 0–40: Auto-verified, @Verified role assigned instantly
6. Score 41–70: Flagged for manual mod review, held in @Unverified
7. Score 71+: Blocked, can't verify
8. Alt detection: if fingerprint matches a banned device → automatically blocked, @Alternate Account role assigned

What raises risk score: VPN/proxy/Tor use, account under 7 days old, impossible travel, browser automation signals, IP velocity (5+ verifications/hour), language/country mismatch.

🔐 PERMISSION TIERS
